Client Description: Unicorn Office Equipment has been proudly serving the Sydney metropolitan area since 1993 with high quality office equipment, service and repairs.
Scenario:
Unicorn Office Equipment realised several years ago that the internet was an integral and imortant part of their business offering, and developed and maintained their own website detailing the products and services they offered. As their business and product range grew, so did the pressure of updating and maintaining their website. It quickly became apparent that to continue using the internet as a meaningful business tool they would need to have a major rethink of their website.
Solution:
After careful analysis of Unicorns online and offline business processes we proposed a full featured, lightweight, integrated e-commerce and CMS system that would enable realtime order placement and processing, and live updates to the site using an intuitive, easy to use WYSIWYG editor.
The new site is designed as a standards compliant, tableless design, utilising CSS, XHTML and JavaScript to provide a low bandwidth, fast loading, easily updateable site.
The CMS and e-commerce system is built on PHP and MySQL, and enables the owners to make realtime changes to the site, and perform member registration, products, orders and payments administration and processing in a single, simple package. |
